GAA:
UCC snr hurlers defeated CIT 3:20 – 1:17 in the Colleges League last night
UCC Jnr footballers defeated CIT 1:14 – 1:11 in the league last night – Sean Casey (pictured) was the first American born player to play for UCC in a competitive fixture in 17 years!
HOCKEY:
UCC Div 3 were beaten 1:2 by Blackrock in the league at the weekend
UCC Div 5 won 2:0 against Cork Harlequins
UCC Div 6 were beaten 0:4 by Cork Harlequins
HANDBALL:
UCC’s Elaine Mc Grath was runner up in the 60 x 30 ladies “B” intervarsities last weekend in Kilkenny
SAILING:
UCC performed extremely well at the Sothern’s recently.
UCC 1 came 1st and UCC 2 came 2nd in gold fleet which is the overall event,
UCC 5 came 1st in silver fleet and UCC 3 came 3rd
UCC 4 came 2nd in bronze fleet
LADIES GAELIC FOOTBALL:
UCC student Eimear Meaney was awarded “Player of the Match” at the recent Cork Ladies Senior Club Championship Final playing with her home club Mourneabbey
RUGBY:
UCC hosted the Dudley Cup at the farm last Saturday. UCD emerged winners, with UCC as runner-up
TRAMPOLINE:
UCC hosted the Munster Open at the Mardyke Arena last Saturday & it was a tremendous success
SOCCER:
UCC “A” were beaten 2-0 by Midleton in the FAI Junior Cup
UCC were beaten 3-2 by Ballincollig in the FAI Intermediate Cup
UCC Acad were beaten 1-3 by Douglas hall Ath in the Munster Jnr Lge at the weekend
UCC “B” were beaten 2-3 by Watergrasshill Utd in the Presidents Cup 2nd round at the weekend
UCC “A” were beaten 0-5 by St John Boscos in the AUL 1A lge at the weekend
Shane Daly Butz & Sean McLoughlin are in the Irish Amateur squad who play Northern Ireland in a friendly on Wednesday 26th October
LADIES SOCCER:
UCC were beaten 2-1 by Carlow It in the colleges league last week
ULTIMATE FRISBEE:
UCC defeated UL in the final of the Mixed Indoor Intervarsity to win the first frisbee title of the year.
BASKETBALL:
UCC Women’s “A” team were beaten by CIT in their opening colleges league match last week.
UCC Women’s “C” team defeated AIT 51-34 at the Mardyke Arenas in their opening match
UCC Demons were beaten 87-96 in the first leg of the Senior Cup at the weekend. Return fixture in Cork.
