UCC Demons defeated Belfast Star up North on a scoreline – 105:83
HOCKEY:
UCC women’s team were beaten 2:3 by Pembroke Wanderers in the EY Hockey League at the weekend
RUGBY:
UCC seniors had a one point victory over Banbridge at the Mardyke at the weekend. Final score UCC 27: 26 Banbridge
UCC U20’s were beaten by Cork Constitution UCC 5:36 Cork Con
SOCCER:
UCC seniors defeated Mayfield Utd 4:1 in the MSL
UCC Jnr 1 were beaten 1:2 by Douglas Hall
UCC jnr 2 were beaten 2:3 by St John Boscos in the Cork AUL 2A league
GAA ALL Stars:
UCC student Pamela Mackey received a camogie All Star at the weekend for her performances with Cork
UCC Graduate Orla Cotter also received a camogie All Star for her performances with Cork
Tadhg de Burca, UCC student received “Young Hurler of the Year” & an All Star for his performances with Waterford
Shane Enright, UCC Graduate received an All Star in Gaelic Football for his performances with Kerry
TAE KWON DO:
Anya Curran came third in ladies black belt patterns and second in ladies black belt sparring at the ITF Eireann Championships in Little Island yesterday and Omed Poshdary came first in male blue/red belt sparring and also came first in the male blue/red pattern section
ULTIMATE FRISBEE:
UCC women’s won the indoor intervarsities at the weekend
At the recent national IFDA awards UCC were extremely successful and won the following:
Aoife Blake:
-Female College “Player of the Year”
-Female Club “Player of the Year”
-“Most spirited female player”
Matthew Feely:
-Contribution to the development of Irish Ultimate
Mary McKee:
-Most spirited female player
John Doherty: UCC Graduate, won an award for his contribution to the development of Irish Ultimate
