UCC well represented in upcoming Camoige final.

The sporting women of Cork are looking forward to two All-Ireland Final appearances over the next three weeks in both Camogie and Ladies Gaelic Football.


First up are the Cork camogie team who play Galway next Sunday September 13 at 4pm in a game that is live on RTE 2 TV and once again there is a fantastic UCC student representation.


In total there are nine from the College camogie club on the panel, Pamela & Katrina Mackey (PHD Chemistry), Leanne O’Sullivan (Arts), Meabh Cahalane (Commerce), Orla Cronin (Biological & Chemical Science), Amy O’Connor (Pharmacy), Jennifer Hosford (Childhood Studies), Hannah Looney (Chemical Engineering) and Lauren Callinan (Pharmacy).


The team coach is Dr Wesley O’Brien of the Sports Studies & Physical Education Department.


Amy O’Connor is a second year Quercus Sports Scholarship student while Hannah and Lauren are incoming fresher’s.


Cork are defending the title that they won last year when they defeated Kilkenny.
