UCC Students Performing and Winning at The Olympic Games in Tokyo

Wonderful news overnight.

2 members of UCC rowing club won bronze medals in Tokyo in the Women’s 4– student Emily Hegarty and graduate Afric Keogh – supported by reserve – student Tara Hanlon.  They are incredible athletes competing and wining at the highest levels of sport.

Further stirring performances from students Margaret Cremen and Aoife Casey– finishing 5th in their semi-final and student Paul O Donovan and Fintan McCarty winning their semi-final and progressing to the final tomorrow.  Another UCC rowing club member Ronan Byrne and Philip Doyle have finished 10th.

Outstanding support from all areas of UCC academic and sporting community have contributed to these student athletes reaching and performing at the Olympics.
