UCC Sports Update
HOCKEY:
Congratulations to UCC students Sam Grace (Quercus sports Scholar), Clodagh Cassin & Emma Barber on making the Irish U21 hockey squads for next year’s European Championships. UCC’s Kate Murphy has made the Irish Development squad.
PARALYMPICS:
Congratulations to former UCC student Niamh McCarthy on winning a silver medal in the F41 Discus event at the Paralympics on Thursday evening.
Congratulations to UCC Graduate Patrick O Leary who finished 6th in the canoeing final at the Paralympics.
RUGBY:
UCC began life on Division 1B of the AIL league with a 20-23 defeat by Old Wesley
SOCCER:
UCC seniors began their season with a 5-2 win over Fermoy in the FAI Intermediate Cup played in Fermoy.
LADIES GAELIC FOOTBALL:
Good luck to Cork in the All Ireland final on Sunday. They are going for six in a row. UCC is well represented in the squad.
