Last Sunday in Thurles, Waterford and Clare played out a draw in a thrilling National Hurling League Final and there was a large UCC GAA student representation on both county teams.

He was well supported by Jamie Barron (Fourmilewater/Masters in Food Business), Tom Devine (Mondeligo/Medicine) and Conor Gleeson (Fourmilewater/Arts). Other College students on the Waterford panel are DJ Foran (Portlaw/Arts), Mark O’Brien (Ferrybank/Arts) Shane Roche (Shamrocks/PME) and Gavin O’Brien (Renmore/PME).

The manager of the Waterford team is Derek McGrath, a graduate of the University and a former Fitzgibbon Cup winner in the 90’s.

Shane O’Donnell, a Genetics student from Ennis was on the Clare team. Shane is a current Quercus Scholarship holder.

The replay is on next Sunday May 8th.
