Important 36hours ahead for both the UCC Soccer and GAA clubs.

Today at 2.30pm UCC Soccer are in Limerick to take on the hosts, UL in the Collingwood Cup Final.   UCC overcame a resilient DCU on Monday.  Two goals in the opening 30minutes looked to have the Cork side in cruise control.  However, a determined DCU took the pitch for the second half, pinning UCC back for long periods.  A goal with 10minutes to go gave them a lifeline but it proved consolation in the end.   INto the semi-final against a much fancied tournament winner – UCD.  A goal on the stroke of half time settled any UCC nerves.  However, into the second half UCC were down to 10men within 10minutes of the restart.  A strong controlled defensive performance from UCC saw them progress to today’s final.
