UCC Sport Scholarship Programme Details
UCC Sport provides sports scholarships to talented dual career athletes to support them to progress in their studies and education.
The UCC Sport Scholarship programme aims to support athletes achieve their full potential and is divided into two main strands UCC Team Sport Scholarships and UCC Individual Sport Scholarship.
Types of UCC Sports Scholarships
The UCC Sport Scholarship programme aims to support athletes achieve their full potential and is divided into two main strands:
- UCC Individual Sport Scholarship – The Individual Sport Scholarship is open to applicants involved in team sports or individual sports other than the core sports. The sport/sporting organisation must be recognised by Sport Ireland.
- UCC Team Sport Scholarships which covers Hockey, Rugby, Soccer and Gaelic games: Gaelic Football, Hurling, Ladies Gaelic Football and Camogie.
- The Quercus Talented Students' Programme is a scholarship programme that supports and promotes excellence in academia, sport, creative and performing arts, active citizenship & innovation/entrepreneurship. Visit the Quercus website for more information.

How to Apply
To apply for a UCC Sports Scholarship you must:
- Be either a full time registered UCC student or applicant for a programme at University College Cork in 2024/25. (Note: applicants also need to make their degree programme application separately, e.g. through the CAO or through the International Office for Non-EU applicants).
- Read the UCC Sports Scholarship Terms & Conditions
- Complete the UCC Sport Scholarship Application Form online using the relevant 'Apply here' option below.
Application process for 2024/25 is open from 5 February 2024 and closing date is Sunday 18th of August at 8pm.
