Munster XC 2015 Rd.1
Club captain Luke Courtney raced the first round of the Munster XC series in Tracton, Co.Cork. Here is his account of the day.
” Today was my first race of the season, in Tracton, Cork. Tracton is well known for being an difficult and technical track. This was only my second time on the mountain bike since my shoulder injury a few months ago. I raced the advanced category which was 3 laps of the track. I started off well by getting second into the single track. Everything was going well but I lost a fair amount of time as I was struggling to get grip on the many rooted climbs. The course was very physically demanding with very time to rest. I was happy to get 3rd place, great way to start the season. The new Sportful UCC Cycling kit got nice and muddy on its first outing. A big thanks to MBCC for running a great event today”.
