UCC parathlete & Quercus Scholar Mary Fitzgerald competed in the discus & came away with an Irish Record in the F40 women’s shot put

Louise Shanahan came 1st in the  800m

Laura Cussen came 3rd in the  Long Jump

Maria Carey came 2nd in the Triple Jump

Ciara Hickey came 2nd in the Pole Vault

Cillian Kirwan came 1st in the 800m

Ruair O Cinneide came 3rd in the 3,000m walk

David Cussen came 3rd in the Long Jump

In Junior kumite (sparring) – Silver – Orla McCarthy

UCC competed in the Men’s Outdoor intervarsity at the weekend & were runners-up overall.



UCC Surf sent up 8 people to Strandhill on the 31st March for Surf Intervarsities.

Cian O’Mahoney took 3rd in his semi-final for the Men’s Surf.

Colm Doyle won gold in the Men’s Longboard.


UCC competed at ISTO (Irish Student Trampoline Organisation) in Belfast at the weekend and UCC were crowned overall champions for the first time in the clubs history.

UCC seniors defeted Kilworth 6-1 in their Beamish Cup match

UCC Jnr 1 drew 1-1 with Rockmount in their league match

UCC Jnr 2 defeated Fairview 6-1 in the City Challenge Cup to qualify for the semi-finals

UCC Jnr drew 2-2 with pearse Celtic in their league match

UCC Academicals defeated Bandon 1-0 in their league match


UCC Div 3 Mixed team won the Cork Handicap Cup DIV 3 against Courtmacsherry last Friday night


A word of praise to UCC Dance Club who had their End of Year show at the Firkin Crane last night. A sell-out crowd saw a very professional show put on by the students of UCC displaying their dancing skills to family, friends & fellow students. All monies raised on the night go to CUH Children’s Charity.
