2 UCC Sports Scholars played each other last weekend in the high standard Dublin League. Daniel Moloney’s side, Naas LTC narrowly overcame Sean O’Callaghan’s Malahide LTC to book their spot in yesterday’s final.
First year student, Eimear O’Neill also secured Naas ladies team’s spot in yesterday’s Final with a huge win against extremely strong opposition.
Daniel’s Naas LTC took home, for the second time in their club’s history, the Dublin Winter League Class 1 Title. Naas went 21-0 this campaign so huge well done to Daniel and all at Naas following their victory in yesterday’s final.
Eimear O’Neill, was unfortunate not to win with her team coming a very respectable 2nd place in the ladies class one event in the women’s final.
UCC defeated CIT in their opening round of the cork County Senior Hurling Championship. Final score UCC 0.23 : 0.13 CIT

UCC Intermediate camogie got to the final of their colleges & universities blitz but were beaten by UL in the final.
UCC seniors have qualified for the final of the O Connell Cup following their penalty shoot-out victory over College Corinthians at the Mardyke last week.
They followed this up with a 1-1 draw away to Cobh Wanderers in a top of the table clash in the Munster Senior League on Saturday.

In the Cork AUL 3A UCC were defeated 1 – 4 by Watergrasshill Utd
UCC Senior Women defeated Ashton 2-1 to remain in 2nd place in the Munster Senior League with one match to go
UCC Senior men were beaten 2-4 by Bandon in their Munster Senior League match last Tuesday night

Sean O’Riordan, Para-athlete and UCC Sports Scholarship holder, has broken the consideration time for this year’s Para World Championships for the 400m Freestyle at the Nationals-4:44 down from 4:52 two months ago and four seconds inside the consideration time.
