Dual CUFL Semi Finals for UCC on Monday the 1st of February

A big day for all those involved in UCC soccer club this coming Monday the 1st of February. Both the J2′s and the Freshers will be competing in the CUFL 3rd and 4th division semi final’s respectively. Both be kicking off at 2:30 out in the Farm with a place in the final the prize for both.

UCC J2′s v GMIT Mayo: Division 3 Quarter final

UCC’s quarter final game required the long trip up to Mayo  but goalkeeper Brian Cronin was the highlight of the day as he kept GMIT Mayo off the scoresheet and also added his name to his side’s. A kickout from the Cork keeper managed to deceive his opposite number one and become the first keeper to score in this year’s campaign. Combined with a double from Danny Hinds.

UCC Frshers v National College of Ireland ‘B’: Division 4 Quarter final

UCC Freshers pulled off a late comeback to deny NCI B a semi-final place. A double from Jordan Malone had put the Dublin side 2 goals in front. They could not shut up shop though and Sean Sexton found the net to bring UCC back into it. Tom Sutcliffe managed to get the equaliser to set up a dramatic finish. With extra-time looming, Jason Cullinane broke NCI hearts finding the winner in the final minute.

We congratulate both of our sides on making this stage in each of their competitions and we would encourage everyone to make it out to the farm for 2 o’clock on Monday to cheer on the lads.
