Corinthian Cup Joy for UCC

UCC J2s were victorious in last night’s Corinthians Cup Final against Lakewood at Turners Cross.

A strong start from Corb’s Army saw captain Conor O’Reilly taken down for a penalty after some great buildup play. The penalty was slotted away comfortably by Man of the Match winner Jordan Philpott and UCC went in at the break one goal to the good.

Lakewood hit back in the second half but Liam Corbett and Paul Farrell’s tactical prowess came to the fore, as they summoned Arno Demar from the bench and he sent the Cup back to UCC with a great turn and finish with fifteen minutes to go.

The win caps off a wonderful year for UCC J2s, adding to their impressive Crowley Cup win earlier in the year.
