Collingwood Launched in the Mardyke
The 2016 Collingwood Cup was launched in the Mardyke Pavilion yesterday. The competition which will be held in Cork in the last week of February next year will feature the best young University talent the country has to offer – including a whole host of League of Ireland talent.
Holders UCC hope to retain the trophy which has been played for since 1914. Eleven teams will battle it out in Cork for the honour of lifting the cup. UCC, NUIG, UL, DCU, Trinity, Mary Immaculate College and Ulster University were among the seeded teams for the draw while NUI Maynooth, Royal College of Surgeons and Queen’s University Belfast were unseeded.
The tournament will kick off on Tuesday, February 23 at UCC.
