Breast Cancer Awareness at Cork Open 2015
Breast cancer is the most common cancer found in women in Ireland. Every year, around 2,600 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and 660 women die from the disease. 1 in 10 women in Ireland will get breast cancer at some stage in their lives. Here in UCC Ultimate we want to take a stand against breast cancer and to show our support for those who are suffering we will be fundraising for Breast Cancer Ireland at our upcoming tournament ‘Cork Open’. The tournament is being held in Nemo Rangers GAA club this Saturday and Sunday (17th & 18th of October). We will be handing out pink ribbons and balloons to raise awareness and we also be accepting donations from players and spectators.
If you’d like to support this charity then come along at the weekend. You will get to witness this great sport in action as well as helping out a very worthy cause. Alternatively, you can text ‘FEEL’ to 50300 to donate €4 to Breast Cancer Ireland.
