UCC tops Student Sport Ireland Awards

UCC Sports clubs and students continues to go from strength to strength once again.  This time, it’s the turn of the UCC Trampoline Club and club captain & Quercus Scholar Ciara Judge.

At the Student Sport Ireland annual networking event, UCC were shortlisted in both award categories:

  • Student Leadership Award
  • Event of the Year

Ciara Judge was nominated by UCC Sports following her recent award of Club Person of the Year award at the Clubs & Soc’s Ball.  While Trampoline Club were nominated for hosting the ever impressive Trampoline Intervarsities.

Deputy Director for Sport and Physical Activity, Christine O’Donovan was in Waterford yesterday for the SSI Networking Conference to present UCC’s nomination for the Leadership Award.

At the SSI Network evening dinner, the winners were announced and it was double success for UCC and the Trampoline Club

Ciara Judge picked up the ‘Student Leadership Award’.  Judge is an amazing talent and fully deserving of this award.  The 3rd year Genetics Student is also captain of the UCC Trampoline Club, a Quercus Innovation & Entrepreneurship Scholar, a Science communicator and Youth consultancy at Fortune 500 Companies such as SAP.

The second award of the evening went to UCC Trampoline club for hosting the 2019 Intervarsities in the Mardyke Arena.  Led by Captain Ciara Judge the Trampoline Club committee and their team of volunteers delivered an event to be proud of.
