University College Cork honours Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles 2015 Winners

NO REPRO FEE. University College Cork President, Dr. Michael Murphy today honoured three athletes who competed in the recent Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles 2015. Visiting the University Campus earlier were: Sean Coleman, student of the Certificate in Contemporary Living (CCL) who won a silver medal in the 25m backstroke swimming event (The CCL is a course for adult learners with an intellectual disability). Sean has just completed his first year on this course: Aoife O’Sullivan – Rhythmic Gymnastics from Ballinlough, 25 years old who won 1 gold and 2 bronze medals. UCC graduate – Certificate in Contemporary Living (CCL) and Colm Monaghan – Men’s Soccer – 5th place in tournament – a UCC graduate – Certificate in Contemporary Living (CCL). Also present were family members as well as Declan Kidney, Director of Sport and Physical Activity and Alan Quirke, Sports Officer, UCC.
