Irish Boss Martin O’Neill to Speak in the Mardyke on Saturday

The annual Colours Lunch hosted by the UCC Soccer Alumni will take place this Saturday, 14th of February.

The curtain raiser to the lunch is a fixture between UCC J2s and UCC Combined in the Mardyke on Friday, 13th, kicking off at 7:30pm. The main Colours fixture sees UCC J1s take on College Corinthians on Saturday with a 10:30am KO, leading into the lunch at 1pm.

Republic of Ireland national team manager, Martin O’Neill, is guest speaker for the lunch and FAI President, Tony Fitzgerald, will also be in attendance as UCC celebrate a historic twelve months. Under the stewardship of John Caulfield, the unbeaten UCC Senior team were crowned 2013/14 Munster Senior League champions for the first time in the college’s esteemed history. Additionally, just last week the UCC Freshers, under Peter Quigley and Michael O’Leary, were victorious the national inter-varsity tournament, the Harding Cup, for the first time in 20 years.

The event will be a celebration of a record-breaking year for all involved with UCC Soccer and the presence of a guest of Martin O’Neill’s calibre underlines the success of the lunch in previous years. It is an all-ticket event, but those seeking to buy one of the last remaining tickets to can send their details to uccsocceralumni@gmail.com.
