Good Darts!

The following is a report from TJ Kenneally, the Capt of this years Darts club – one of the most dynamic clubs here in UCC Sport.

This year UCC Darts begun its first ever year playing in the highest level of darts in Cork, the premier division.

This season we solidified our position as a premier team and hope to push on next year and aim for the end of season playoffs. Our second team competed in division two this year and were very close to promotion missing out by 1 point before Christmas and only lost out by having less wins after finishing level after Christmas. Our trophy duck was finally broke on Monday 30th March where both our first and second teams won their respective 4 a side championships after weeks of progression through to the finals. UCC A beat the Evergreen Bar 9-5 in their final, while UCC B beat the Beer Garden 9-2. We also had 7 players who represented Cork in the All Ireland 7 a side championships in Tramore this Spring. Since then UCC Darts has hosted a charity event in Devere Hall run in conjunction with the Cork Darts Players Association in aid of Build 4 Life Cystic Fibrosis. A great night was had by all and there was over €1200 raised for charity with more money still coming in.

Overall, it has been a very progressive year for UCC Darts and we hope to make further strides forward next season. I have attached a few photos from throughout the year, hope ye enjoy.
