GAA injury prevention workshop

Rebel Óg Coaching in association with Mr. Declan Bowler and the Mater Private would like to invite you to attend a practical workshop on injury prevention in the GAA.

It is no secret that the vast majority of injuries in the GAA are to the lower limbs (hamstring, groin, knee, ankle), and over half of these injuries occur during non-contact activities such as sprinting, turning, and landing. What is less known, perhaps, is the fact that improvement in players’ strength, movement mechanics, and neuromuscular control can greatly reduce their risk of suffering from a lower limb injury.

 

As part of their implementation programme, Rebel Óg Coaching would like to invite you to be part of a pilot programme where you will be invited to attend a practical workshop & demonstration on the Cork GAA injury prevention warm-up programme. It is then hoped that you would then take some time to implement the warm-up programme yourself with a team you are coaching. After a period of time, you will be asked to return to a second workshop where you will be given the opportunity to provide your personal feedback on the programme and on your time implementing it with players.

This practical workshop will take place on Wednesday 9th September, 2015 at 7pm in Nemo Rangers GAA club.
