THE MARDYKE SPORTS GROUNDS

Just a five minute walk from the quadrangle, the historical sports grounds have undergone magnificent recent upgrades. Steeped in history, this playing field has been the home of UCC sport since 1911. Hosts UCC Rugby matches in the AIL League, usually on Saturday afternoons. Also home to UCC AFC, this venue features modern floodlights and can accommodate over 800 spectators in the covered stands, and offers close-up views of the matches from all angles.

THE SYNTHETIC PITCH

Headquarters for the UCC Ladies and Men’s Hockey Clubs, this water-based pitch offers a top-class playing facility with covered viewing accommodation for 750 spectators. It is ideal for casual soccer bookings for students, and hosts the annual UCC AFC Quarry Cup, the top intramural competition during the school year. THE GAA PITCH at the MARDYKE

Home of the Men’s & Ladies Football, Hurling and Camogie, the pitch is strictly restricted to Club use only unless prior arrangements are made with the Department of Sport & Physical Activity. Recently upgraded with floodlights, this pitch is a fabulous venue for the best of GAA teams.
