Camogie

Congratulations to UCC students Pamela & Katrina Mackey & UCC Graduate Orla Cotter on being awarded Camogie All Stars following their performances with Cork in 2016. Anne Dalton, UCC graduate also received an All Star for her performances with Kilkenny.

 

Hurling:

Congratulations to UCC Graduates James Barry & Jamie Barron on being awarded Hurling All Stars following their performances with their county in 2016.

 

Gaelic Football:

UCC seniors drew 0:12 – 0:12 with UL in the league last week.

UCC Intermediates defeated UL: 3:15 – 1:09 in the league last week.

 

Congratulations to former UCC players Paul Geaney & Michael Quinlivan on being awarded All Stars following their performances with their county teams in 2016.

 

Ultimate Frisbee:

UCC ladies become the first ever college/university to win 5 consecutive indoor intervarsity titles.

 

Hockey:

UCC men were beaten 3:4 by Limerick in the Munster Senior League.

UCC ‘B’ were beaten 1:2 by Galway”B” in the Munster League Division 3.

UCC defeated Waterford 4:2 in the Womens Senior League.

UCC defeated Blackrock 2:0 in the in the Division 5 league.

UCC were beaten 0:4 by Fermoy in the Division 6 league.

 

Basketball:

UCC Glanmire defeated Brunell 72:58 in the Womens Superleague.

UCC Demons were beaten 70:81 by Templeogue I the men’s Superleague.

 

Paralympics:

Congratulations to former UCC student Niamh McCarthy on receiving the ‘Cork International Airport Southside Award’ for October in recognition of her silver medal at the recent Paralympics in Rio.

 

Soccer:

Congratulations to UCC Graduate Michael McSweeney on being part of the Cork City FC winning FAI Cup squad yesterday. Cork City FC were managed by former UCC AFC manager John Caulfield.

 

UCC Seniors were beaten 1:3 by Ringmahon Rangers at the weekend.

UCC “A” were beaten 0:1 by Passage in the Munster Junior League.

UCC Acad drew 1:1 WITH Wilton Utd in the Munster Junior League division 2.

UCC “B” drew 2:2 with Leeview Ath “2” in the Cork AUL Division 2A.

 

Rugby:

UCC seniors were beaten 6:10 by Naas at the weekend but picked up a vital loosing bonus point.

 

Sailing:

Another very successful weekend for UCC at the IUSA Sailing event in Wexford with UCC1 winning gold fleet comfortably with UCC2 coming in second place. TCD were the organisers of the event.

 

Fencing:

UCC hosted another very successful Schull tournament at the Mardyke Arena at the weekend.

UCC placed 2nd place in Womens foil.
