Ambrose and Foley add to UCC All-Star haul for 2015.

The very best male and female hurlers and footballers who played over the past 12 months were honoured recently for their outstanding performances on the field of play. UCC students were noticeable in the selection of the very best for 2015.

 

Arts 3 student (Irish & Geography) Tadgh de Burca (pictured) from Waterford, holder of a Michael J Dowling scholarship, was deemed to be the All Star centre back in hurling and was also honoured with the accolade of ‘ Young hurler of the Year’, meaning he was the best Under 21 hurler in Ireland.

 

2nd year Sports Studies and Physical Education student Marie Ambrose along with PHD in Science student Vera Foley were both named on the Ladies Gaelic football All Star Team of the Year.

 

PHD student in Chemistry, Pamela Mackey once again was acknowledged, when she was deemed to be one of the best 15 players in the country by being chosen on the All Star Camogie team for 2015.
